What Mattress Removal Costs

Anything smaller than a quarter of our truck is $150, carried from any floor. Bigger jobs are priced by the space they take.

One mattress, or a mattress and box spring

$150

Twin or California king, it is the same price. That covers carrying it down the stairs and out to the truck.

The whole bed, or two mattress sets

often still $150

A mattress set with its frame and headboard, or two sets from the kids’ rooms, usually stays under a quarter of the truck.

A bedroom: bed, dresser and nightstands

about a quarter load, from $275

Bed frame, mattress set, a dresser and two nightstands come to around 4.5 cubic yards.

Mattresses as part of a bigger clear-out

half a load or more, from $425

Several bedrooms, a basement guest room and the boxes that go with a move-out or an estate.

How Mattress Pickup Works

Send a photo, get the price

Text a photo of the mattress, or of the whole bed if the frame goes too, with the address and which floor it is on. A single set is $150 and we tell you before we come. If there is more to go, the quote is based on how much of the truck it fills, and you approve it before we load anything.

We carry it out

A king-size hybrid is floppy and heavy, and it catches on railings and walls on a tight turn, so the crew carries it with care. We carry it down from a third-floor walk-up, up from a basement guest room or out of a condo, and there is no stair fee. For a condo building, book the elevator or the loading dock and tell us the window.

Frames come apart on the spot

Metal frames, platform beds and bunk beds get taken apart in the room so they fit through the door. You do not need to strip the bed or move anything to the door; sheets and pillows can go too. Take out anything you want to keep.

Already outside? You do not need to be home

If the mattress is leaning by the garage, on the driveway or by the back door of your building, send the photo and the address and we pick it up while you are at work.

If there are bed bugs

Tell us when you book. The mattress and box spring have to be sealed in plastic mattress bags before they leave the room, so nothing falls off in the hallway, on the stairs or in a shared building. Send a photo and we will tell you exactly what is needed.

Where your mattress goes

Not to an alley or a curb. The steel springs, foam, fabric and wood in a mattress can be separated and reused, so it goes to recycling when a facility can take it, and is disposed of properly when it cannot.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does mattress removal cost?

A mattress, or a mattress and box spring, is $150, any size and from any floor. The whole bed with its frame, or a second set, often stays within that $150 minimum because it is still less than a quarter of the truck. Bigger jobs are priced by truck space: a quarter load from $275, a half from $425, three-quarters from $575 and a full load from $780. You get the price before we load anything.

Do you take the box spring and bed frame too?

Yes. Box springs, foundations, metal frames, platform beds, bunk beds and headboards all go in the same trip. We take frames apart in the room so they fit through the door, and that is part of the job.

Can you pick up a mattress today?

In most cases we can come the same day or the next day. Call or text in the morning with a photo and the address, and we will tell you when the crew can be there.

Do I need to be home for mattress pickup?

Not if the mattress is already outside, by the garage, on the driveway or by the back door of your building. Send a photo and the address. If it is inside, someone needs to let us in.

Do you charge extra for stairs?

No. Carrying a mattress down from a second or third floor, up from a basement or out of a walk-up is part of the job. There is no stair fee and no heavy-item fee.

What happens to my old mattress?

It goes to recycling when a facility can take it, where the springs, foam, fabric and wood are separated, and it is disposed of properly when it cannot. Most charities do not accept used mattresses, so plan on yours being recycled or disposed of.

Will you take a mattress with bed bugs?

Yes, if you tell us before we come. It has to be completely sealed in plastic mattress bags before it is carried through the house, so nothing spreads to the hallway, the stairs or other units. Send a photo and we will tell you what is needed.

Do you pick up mattresses in my town?

We pick up mattresses in Chicago and in Park Ridge, Niles, Des Plaines, Rosemont, Norridge, Harwood Heights, Morton Grove, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Evanston, Wilmette, Glenview, Northbrook, Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect, and across Lake, McHenry, DuPage and Kane counties. Send the address and we will confirm.
