What Fits in Each Load

Real combinations, using the item sizes from our pricing chart. Loads are visual estimates: the same things packed tightly take less room.

1/4 load · from $275

About 4.5 cubic yards. A three-seat sofa, a refrigerator and two large boxes. Or about 18 full garbage bags. Typical for a one-room clear-out or a few bulky pieces.

1/2 load · from $425

About 9 cubic yards. A sofa, a wardrobe, a fridge, a table, a rolled rug and four boxes. Typical for a bedroom and a living room, or a small basement storage room.

3/4 load · from $575

About 13.5 cubic yards. Two sofas, two wardrobes, a fridge, two tables and half a dozen boxes. Typical for a crowded basement or most of a one-car garage.

Full load · from $780

About 19 cubic yards, the whole truck. One parking space packed floor to ceiling, or the furniture from a small house. Bigger jobs are priced in more loads.

Smaller than a quarter load, like one couch or one fridge, is a $150 job. Whole houses and estates usually run to several loads; the estate cleanout and house and basement cleanout pages show what those typically come to.

How a Junk Removal Job Goes

From the first photo to a swept floor, usually the same or next day

Text us photos

Send a few photos of the pile, the room or the garage to (224) 220-1883, or use the estimate form. Tell us the floor and anything heavy.

Get a written quote

We reply with a price range based on truck space. If photos can’t show it all, we do a free on-site estimate instead.

Approve the price

At your door we look at it again and confirm the number. Nothing is lifted until you say yes, and the number doesn’t grow once we start.

We load everything

The crew carries it out from wherever it sits: basement, attic, third floor or backyard. No extra fee for stairs or heavy pieces.

Sweep and pay

We sweep the space and you pay for the room it actually took in the truck. If it fit in less than we quoted, you pay less.

What We Take, and What We Don’t

Most of what a house, garage or remodel leaves behind goes on the truck. A short list doesn’t.

We haul

Furniture, mattresses and box springs
Appliances that are already disconnected
Boxes, bags, clothing and household clutter
Electronics, TVs and exercise equipment
Yard gear, grills, bikes and old tools
Remodel debris: drywall, tile, cabinets, flooring

We don’t take

Prescription medications and medical waste
Hazardous waste: solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, fuel
Asbestos or anything needing licensed abatement
Items still connected to gas, water or electric lines
Hot tubs and spas

Tires and dried-out paint cans go on the truck with everything else. For liquid paint or a shelf of garage chemicals, send a photo and ask first, and we will tell you before the visit what we can take. Not sure about any item? Ask before you book, not at the door.

How We Price a Job

One number, set by truck space and confirmed at your door before anything is lifted. No hourly meter on ordinary jobs, and no list of add-on fees.

What sets the price

  • How much room your things take in the truck, counted in quarter loads
  • The $150 minimum for anything smaller than a quarter load
  • Very heavy debris like tile or concrete, which can reach the truck’s weight limit before it fills the space
  • Extra crew time only on whole-house jobs you want finished in a day, at $35 per hour per person

What never costs extra

  • Stairs, basements, attics and third-floor walk-ups
  • Heavy or awkward pieces: sleeper sofas, chest freezers, treadmills
  • Bagging loose items and taking furniture apart
  • The broom sweep when we finish

You get a written range from your photos first. At the door we look again and confirm the number, and if everything fits in less space than we quoted, the bill goes down, not up. For worked examples by room and by house, read our guide to what junk removal costs in Chicago’s suburbs.

What Our Crew Does on the Day

The routine is the same whether it’s one couch or a whole basement.

Before the first item moves

  • We arrive within the window we gave you
  • We walk the space with you, or follow your marked photos, to confirm what goes and what stays
  • We confirm the price before anything is lifted
  • The truck parks as close as it can, and only while we load

While we work

  • We carry everything out from any room or floor
  • Loose items get bagged; furniture that won’t make a turn comes apart
  • Papers, photos or anything that looks valuable get set aside, and we ask you first
  • We sweep the space, and send photos if you’re not home

A garage usually takes two to four hours and a basement two to six. Whole houses and estates run one to three days. Remodel leftovers are handled the same way; see construction debris removal for what we take from renovations.

Junk Removal Questions

Pricing, timing and what goes on the truck.

You pay for the space your items take in the truck. A quarter load (about 4.5 cubic yards) is from $275, a half from $425, three-quarters from $575, and a full load (about 19 cubic yards) from $780. We confirm the number before we start, and you are billed for the space actually used. If it fits in less than we quoted, you pay less.

Jobs smaller than a quarter load fall under our $150 minimum. One sofa, one refrigerator, one mattress set or a few bags is a $150 job. That includes carrying it out from any room or floor.

No. Stairs, basements, second floors, heavy or awkward items and bagging loose stuff are never added to the bill. The price is set by truck space only.

We are fully insured. On licensing we would rather be straight with you: Illinois does not require a state license for cleaning or junk removal, so any company advertising one is stretching the truth. We carry insurance coverage instead of badges, and we are happy to send proof before we start.

We offer same-day and next-day service in most of the north and northwest suburbs. Text photos early in the day for the best chance at a same-day slot. We always arrive within the window we give you.

It helps to be there at the start to show us what stays and what goes, but it is not required. You can leave the garage open or give us a lockbox code, mark the items in photos, and pay remotely after we send photos of the finished space.

We do not take prescription medications, medical waste, asbestos or hazardous waste such as solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and fuel, and we do not remove hot tubs. Appliances and fixtures must already be disconnected from gas, water and electric lines. If you are unsure about something, send a photo and ask before booking.

No. Leave everything where it is. The crew carries it out from whatever room or floor it is on, bags loose items and open boxes, and takes apart furniture that will not fit through a doorway. All you need to do is show us, or mark in your photos, what stays.

Yes. If you find more once we are there, show the crew. We tell you the new number before those items go on the truck, and nothing is added to the bill without your OK. If everything still fits in the space we quoted, the price does not go up.

We work across Chicago’s north and northwest suburbs, including Park Ridge, Niles, Des Plaines, Skokie, Evanston, Glenview, Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect and the other towns listed on this page. We also take jobs in Lake, McHenry, DuPage and Kane counties. Text or call with your address and we will confirm.
